bREATHWORK FOR BIRTH

Helping women find their superpower during life's most precious moment

VIEWS ON BIRTH

My views on birth are simple. People spend years planning big life events - weddings, engagements you name it but with birth people rock up to a hospital and see what happens. For birth, you can never have a plan, only a preference. You can never know with one hundred percent certainty how, where or when it’s going to happen. The one thing you do know is that your breath will be with you - it’s simply your choice whether you use it consciously or not.

Speaking from experience, the benefits of breathwork during a moment so pure, so natural and so life changing in a woman’s story, can be unreal. This is the reason I created Breathwork For Birth - a series of eleven breathwork techniques - alongside an introduction to breathwork, the nervous system, the importance of co-regulation and more - to be used on the big day.

FAQS

If you have a question and don't see the answer below, please do reach out.

i've never done breathwork, is it ok?

Of course, it's 100% ok. If anything, teaching breathwork beginners are my faviourte students. No prior knowledge or breathwork practice is required.

IS the course relevant if i plan on an epidural?

Yes, in fact, following continued practice you will able to use breathwork during the epidural including the moment it is applied. The course will teach you to be so intune with your body using the breath that you will be able to guide the anesthetist when is the right moment for you.

Can i access only the recordings?

Yes this is possible however the Breathwork for Birth course content is recommended to get deeper benefit from the recordings.

HOW do i GET the MOST OUT OF THE COURSE?

Like anything, those who practice on a regular basis will reap the most benefit on birth day. While the course content is a solid foundation, developing a regular practice is absolutely key and so as expected, positive experiences using breathwork for birth is highest among from mothers who practiced the most. Recordings or my regular practice sessions are highly recommended.

Is it only relevant for ‘natural’ births?

In short, no. Also I tend to steer away from ‘natural’ vs ‘not natural’ as in my view, all births are natural! You are a superwoman growing human life - the most natural thing there ever was. Whichever birth story that ends up being yours,  having tools in the toolbox such as awareness of your breath, your nervous system, and the impact of being present during birth can be extremely powerful. For those having a planned c-section, given you won’t experience contractions / surges, Breathwork can be used during the c-section to remain calm and grounded as well a during and after pregnancy.

What breathwork techniques will i learn?

Alongside an introduction to breathwork, the nervous system and co-regulation you will learn and practice the following techniques. Diaphragmatic breath. Sectional breath. Breath with pelvic floor. Visualisations. Coherent breath. Split Rhythm breath. Ha breath. Victorious breath. Humming breath. Down breath. Breath for the unexpected.
